ASLA DRAWN TOGETHER - STUDENTS & PROFESSIONALS POTLUCK PAU HANA, MAGIC ISLAND - AUGUST 29, 2025

ASLA Hawai`i Chapter Pau Hana Picnic took place at Magic Island on the start of Labor Day weekend, August 29, 2025. Professionals, Students, Alumni, Faculty, and Friends enjoyed a beautiful day at Ala Moana Beach Park. ASLA Hawai`i Chapter president Matt Higa chose the perfect spot to watch the sunset, the friday fireworks, and we even felt like we were part of a wedding.

It was a pleasure to meet Dean Mo Zell from the University of Hawai`i at Manoa School of Architecture and her sweet assistant, Mio Shimada, who also took many photos. And our own Landscape Architect Professor Judith Stilgenbauer Professor of Landscape Architecture,

and happy assistant professor Erin Voss.

We had a nice turn out including, Sarah, Sebastian, Matt, Nancy, Mo, Mio, Ian (part photographer), Leticia, Oli, Judith Jacq, Erin, Dersel, Jason, Malu, Jojo, and friend, and Dana.

We all enjoyed the food and drink that Sarah and Sebastian kindly picked up. Sarah outdid herself by making delicious mochi and butterscotch deserts and Leticia made delicious cheese bread. Tomoko Naka and Vivian were on there way with noodles but the parking was difficult for them and Andy Kaufman tried to park too.

Thank you everyone who attended this good fun, fine, beautiful Pau Hana event. It was a pleasure and nice to see old friends and meet new friends too. Lucky we live, work, and study in beautiful Hawai`i. Happy end of Summer everyone.
